We were talking to our friends James and Lynne recently and they mentioned that they were going to California, and they invited us to come with them. We were planning on just going to the beach with them Sunday to Tuesday. But Thomas and I were talking and realized that Jayne is almost 3 which means this would be the only time we could go to Disneyland and not have to pay for her... and we haven't been to Disneyland since I was pregnant with Jayne... so we decided to go! We left Friday morning to California, went to Disneyland Saturday, then met up with James and Lynne and their kids on Sunday for a few days, then came home on Tuesday! It was a CRAZY trip. It definitely was not a vacation haha. I don't think we could have gone anywhere with two young kids and called it a "vacation". It was TOUGH! There were definitely good times... but it was a crazy few days haha. But Disneyland was fun and I'm glad we went! We are going again in November (and just taking Jayne) and I am so excited! I am glad we went now so that she will know what it means next time we say we are going to Disneyland :)

Friday night we went to Downtown Disney! We walked in front of Disneyland and got our tickets.

We met up with James and Lynne for just a bit at Downtown Disney. Jayne and Ella were so cute holding hands :)

Ready for a day at Disneyland! Jayne and Wes don't look very excited about it haha. They were being good and happy though. We got to Disneyland a little after 7 and got in line. I'm so glad we did! We went on so many rides so quick! We went on the Storyboat ride, Dumbo, Casey Jr., Snow White, Pinocchio, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Teacups, roller coaster in Toon Town (twice), Mickey's house, Minnie's house, Roger Rabbit, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Haunted Mansion. Then we ate lunch at the place by Space Mountain, then went back to the hotel for the afternoon because it was hot and we wanted to rest. We went back to Disneyland around 5 or 6. We walked around, went to the Tiki Room, went on Winnie the Pooh (twice), then waited for the parade! We took turns kinda walking around with the kids and trying to kill time. The parade (Paint the Night) was AMAZING! Such a fun parade! Jayne loved it and got so shy when she saw "Michael" (Mike Wazowski) in the parade. It was so cute! Wes liked watching it too I think, and by the end of the parade he was totally out. Disneyland was super crowded... got pretty hot (the high was 95 that day)... but I am glad we went! The morning made it worth it since we went on so many rides so fast. The longest we waited was 10 minutes I think.
When we went to Toon Town, Jayne got to walk with Minnie and hold her hand. It was the cutest!
Wes was SO chill on every ride. He never reacted! He never smiled or cried haha. He was such a trooper at Disneyland.
He fell asleep on Pirates :)
Jayne loved the roller coaster so much that she went on it twice! I'm glad she was brave and tall enough to go on it!
We made her a little bed next to ours at the hotel. This was during the afternoon when we left Disneyland to rest. Keeping her quiet and trying to get her to nap while Wes was in the other room napping was tough...

Meeting Minnie! For the second time
Ready to switch hotels! We stayed two nights in a hotel just us, and then we switched to another hotel to stay at with James and Lynne and their kids. Jayne and Wes thought the luggage cart was super fun. Jayne called it her bus and got SO mad when we made her get off.

Sunday was a tough day. We were going to go to Newport beach but then it was SUPER packed and it took a while to get there and there was a lot of traffic, and then we went to lunch... then tried to go to another beach and that was crazy packed too with no parking so we finally decided to go to a park. Oh and Wes gets car sick apparently... because he threw up all over his car seat :( It was so sad and so gross. The kids had fun at the park though!
Jayne needs older brothers. Ryan and Danny were so good with Jayne.
Jayne didn't sleep very good the two nights we were at the first hotel. So we decided to get a crib from the hotel and see if she would sleep better in that since she still sleeps in a crib at home. She definitely slept better the next two nights!
The beach! We went to Seal Beach. We got there around 11:30 or so and stayed for a few hours. Jayne LOVED it! She didn't want to leave. She loved being in the water and also playing in the sand. Wes on the other hand wasn't as much of a fan... He was tired which didn't help and I think he was mad he got sand in his mouth and eyes. He mostly just wanted to cuddle with daddy.

Wes was holding onto this little cookie without eating it for forever. Silly boy. Jayne took it away though and he was so mad haha.
The drive home was harder for sure than the way there... Wes hardly slept at all. When he fell asleep Jayne would yell "Wes wake up!" So frustrating. Both kids slept at the same time for about 30 minutes so that was nice haha.
The kids were so happy to be home and have more space and play with all their toys!
