34 Weeks

Tomorrow I will be 34 weeks pregnant. I went to the doctor today and got to have another ultrasound! Most likely my last before she is born. It was crazy how big she is getting! We could only see like one body part at a time because she takes up my whole stomach now. After getting her measurements, they are guessing she weighs 4 lbs. 11 oz. The doctor said she is in the upper 30s percentile for weight. My last ultrasound at 28 weeks, she was in the 80s percentile for weight! So crazy. It was probably because of the diabetes. Because I have been controlling my diet, she is not gaining weight too fast now. So yay for me doing good so my baby can be healthy and not huge! The doctor said that she will probably be pretty small when she's born. But who knows. I definitely would like a smaller, but of course healthy, baby! The lady doing the ultrasound also commented on her long skinny legs and that she has a little bit of hair on the back of her head! I might not have a bald baby after all! It was great to see our daughter today and see that everything is going well with her. I have an appointment in 2 weeks, and then after that I will go every week and start getting checked to see if I'm dilating! Crazy! I will be full term in 3 weeks, so she could come in a month or less technically! And I'm totally hoping she does... :)

Here is me and my belly. Oh and I took this picture also so you could see the picture that we have hanging up on the wall in the background. We just put that up the other night. Thomas painted that when he was in 5th grade! How cute is that?? It's like way better than I can do, and he was so young haha. I love it. He's so talented. I love that we have it up in our baby's room. It's perfect :)
Top picture is of her cute little ear. And I love her feet! They look so big!
She was sticking her toes like in her eyes! I was like holy crap don't hurt your eye silly girl! haha it was so funny though. But I wish we could have seen her face better. She is always covering it!

June

It's crazy that June is already almost over! Where the crap did it go?? No but seriously. This month seemed to fly by. Here is what the hubby and I have been up to lately...

*Dealing with my diabetes
I seriously am so done with it! I honestly can say that I am grateful that I only have about 6 weeks left of this, and I have no clue how people can have a diet like this all the time! I can't even count how many break downs I have had lately. First off, I am pregnant, so I am automatically more emotional than normal. Second off, food is so important to me! I LOVE food! If you know me well, you will definitely understand this haha. I know everyone loves food. But yeah... it's like a huge part of my life. I used to eat cereal at least twice a day. I haven't even had a bowl in 4 weeks. It's so sad. I miss not having to look at nutrition labels all the time. But, I am grateful to know that I have this so that I can keep Jayne and I healthy! Although it's hard, it is all worth it! Some people think gestational diabetes isn't that big of a deal, and I didn't really either after learning my diet, but after having it for 4 weeks, I realize how tough it is. My blood sugar gets high so quickly sometimes when I eat hardly any carbs at all! It is so frustrating to see high numbers. Overall I have been doing really well though. My doctor said I'm her rock star diabetic :)

*Finishing up the baby's room!
Curtains are up! Aren't they so cute? I love them! My friend Miya has a sewing machine, so she helped me get fabric and sew them. I just love how simple they are. And the color matches the room so well.

I got this bookshelf from this lady off of a Facebook group for only 5 bucks! Score! And my mom gave me most of these books and the book ends. Yay! I'm obsessed with kids books.

*Eating salad....
Guys... I counted today. I have been doing this gestational diabetes diet thing for almost 4 weeks now, and I have eaten 33 salads. Holy smokes! Yeah, pretty much every day I have at least one, sometimes 2 salads. Good thing I like salad! But seriously I am starting to get reeeeally sick of it all the time. (PS I knew how many salads I have had the past 4 weeks because I have to keep a chart of everything I eat and what my blood sugar numbers are for my doctor to see.)

*Pretending our daughter is a rapper
Haha I look over during Sunday school and Thomas was drawing this on a paper. It made me laugh so hard.

*Having music and dance parties at my parents house
My nieces and nephews are seriously the cutest! I love them! They love when Uncle Thomas plays them Disney songs on the piano :)

My dad playing the harmonica and Mason playing the guitar. Seriously can Jett get any cuter?? Haha I love his outfit... Hawaiian shirt with plaid shorts. Nice :) Dad definitely dressed him.

*Playing with PAYTON!
My sister, Donelle, and her little girl Payton came and visited us for almost a week! She came for my baby shower, but also just to see everyone of course. (Oh I don't have any pictures of my baby shower... dang. It was so fun and perfect! Jayne got so spoiled! I was overwhelmed with how many people came! I am so grateful!!) It was such a fun week having them here. Payton (she's 6 months) is at such a fun age! She was soooo happy and smiley seriously like the whole time. She is like the best baby. I need to have her teach Jayne some things when she is born haha. It was so hard to have them leave!! But they will be back the end of August to meet Jayne!

Payton with my Grandpa Crandell. This was on his birthday. He turned 79! But you would never know. He seriously amazes me. He hiked the Grand Canyon last year and he plays basketball in the mornings and goes to the gym. He is a rock star!

My grandpa is basically putting this truck back together and making it work. So tight. He painted it this awesome blue. I love it!

*Picking out Jayne's outfit for her to come home in!
Ok I don't really know if she really will wear this, because it depends how big she is! But this outfit is so teeny tiny! And I think it's so freaking adorable!

*Getting Jayne's car seat
This was the group gift at my baby shower. Yay! So awesome! I love it!! Perfect for when we have a boy too :) I'm all for gender neutral strollers and car seats and stuff so we can use them for our future son.

*Eating greek yogurt
Ok seriously, this stuff is SO YUMMY! And this particular kind has the least amount of carbs I have seen in yogurt, so I can actually have this kind (ocassionally). Toasted coconut vanilla or something it's called. It is seriously delicious. And definitely worth a dollar.

*Getting other fun things for baby girl!
This play mat was only 5 bucks. Score!

My mother-in-law gave me this baby book. So perfect!

I got so many blankets at my baby shower. I am so grateful! I LOVE swaddling babies and just snuggling with them in a soft blanket... so so so excited to hold my sweet girl.

This is what she'll sleep in for the first little bit! It will be right next to our bed :)

Ok seriously this is like the coolest thing! My sister got it for me. She uses it for Payton. It's a sound machine, and also a projector! So it's like a mobile, but real pictures that go through the projector on the ceiling. So awesome!!

*Hubby got a new camera (Canon Mark II)
Thomas has been doing quite a few videos lately and has been absolutely loving it. He is getting better and better each one he makes. He upgraded his camera to the Mark II. I was skeptical because it cost so much, but it will be a good investment for his business! Plus, he is learning more and getting better at photography, so I'm excited that he'll be able to take really good pictures of Jayne when she is born :)
But seriously isn't he just so cute? I just love him so much. Yeah neither of us are perfect and we have disagreements like a normal couple, but I love him more every day! He is going to be such a great dad. I have especially have been grateful to have him right by my side lately when I have had hard times because of my pregnancy and the whole diabetes thing. He is so understanding and will just hold me while I cry and try to cheer me up. He is such a stud. I'm so grateful I have him for eternity!

*Watching my belly do crazy things!
Jayne is getting bigger, and so now instead of kicks, we see full on rolls and turns. It is crazy! My stomach will get totally lopsided sometimes.

*Getting used to it (officially) being summer
My poor hubby works outside doing pools... He is such a trooper. He has to leave so early in the morning so that he can get done before it gets to be too hot. We have had fun going swimming together lately though :) Oh and I made this summer banner! I had it up for spring, and I realized spring and summer had the same number of letters, so I turned the papers around and made it say summer on one side!

Oh and my mom today bought me this bumbo! for 5 bucks! That's a steal for one of these!

Manning Family Reunion

We had a great weekend in Pinetop staying at a cabin with my husband's side of the family. The weather was oh so nice.... it was hard to come home to the heat yesterday. We went up Friday afternoon and came home Sunday night. Some highlights include:
*awesome cabin
*the fooooood.... so yummy!
*going on walks with Thomas
* sitting outside on the porch on the swing enjoying the nice weather
*going to the swap meet and seeing all the interesting people and what they were selling....
*Hawley Lake (and the long drive there because we got lost haha)
*talking to all his siblings until late
*family pictures (hahaha it's always insane when you try and take group pictures with lots of kids)
It was a great trip! It was crazy being with his whole family... tons of kids... lots of noise... so it's kind of nice to be home to our quiet home! Haha but we had a great time.

 Hawley Lake

 My wonderful in-laws
The 3 oldest nieces. So crazy that I now have a niece that's 11.
The whole fam. 6 kids, 16 grandkids, and 4 more grandkids on the way!
 Thomas and his siblings
The siblings and spouses

I love this man more every day!

31 Weeks

31 weeks pregnant... holy shnikes. I know, I know, I seem surprised every week. It's because I am! It's insane that I'm on the home stretch now. It is June, so I can officially say that Jayne could be coming into this world the end of next month! I'm really hoping she's born in July haha. I'm due August 7th... (so technically I'm not officially 31 weeks until Wednesday, but I always start the week on Sunday or Monday... just for fun. Plus she has always been a little "ahead" according to the doc) but she will hopefully come a little early. Momma can't wait to meet you baby girl!
Welp, last post I talked about how I had to redo the glucose test because I failed it. Well, I failed it again the second time! Boo! I have been "diagnosed" with gestational diabetes. Basically it means that my body doesn't break down sugars how it should. It causes me to have high blood sugar and is harmful to my baby. So scary when I first found out :( There are so many risk factors and everything... I definitely had a break down. But after going to a class and learning all about it and also talking to people who have had it, it really isn't a huge deal. It definitely can be, though, if I don't control my blood sugar. At this class I went to, I learned how to check my blood sugar (poke my finger with the stupid little thing... it doesn't even hurt though. It's just annoying) and things I can/can't eat. I have to check my blood sugar 4 times a day (right when I wake up, and then 2 hours after each meal). It doesn't hurt or anything, which is good because I was super scared at first haha, but it's just annoying. I have to remember what time I eat so I know what time to check it. But the hardest thing is my diet. After going to the class I felt a little better about it, but now after doing this for a week now, I'm realizing that it actually is tough. I used to eat whatever I wanted and whenever basically... I tried to eat healthy of course. It's just hard to find things to eat now. It's weird to know that straight up sweets and carbs do the same thing to my body. Both pretty much are unhealthy for me right now. And yeah, there are carbs in FRUIT. Seriously?? Because of the natural sugars... So basically fruit isn't very good for me right now. If I eat it I can only have a tiny bit. The obvious carbs are bread, pasta, chips, pizza, etc. I can have up to 30 carbs for breakfast, and 45-60 for lunch and dinner. I have tried to eat even less than that though, because my blood sugar shouldn't ever be over 120, and yesterday and today it's gotten up to 111 from eating probably around 40 carbs for one meal. It's so frustrating :( The most frustrating thing is being worried about Jayne. Gestational diabetes can make your baby gain weight too fast and be premature. All I want is a healthy baby, so I'm trying my best to stay positive and be really good at this diet. It honestly is so hard though.... All I want right now is one of those Frosty's from Wendy's that now come in a waffle cone, and cereal (I used to eat 2 bowls a day at least... and guess what. There are lots of carbs in cereal and milk). Meals have been hard to think of... I've been eating a lot of chicken, salads, string cheese, eggs, and other meat. Those things are all super yummy of course, but it's hard when you know you can't eat Hungry Howie's pizza or a plate of spaghetti.
I try to not complain... and I try to remember that I (hopefully) won't have to eat like this for too long. But it's sad knowing I am at risk for type 2 diabetes. I have a fairly high chance of getting it. It's like so depressing haha.
Knowing this is for Jayne though makes it so much easier. I am doing this for my sweet little girl. It is all worth it :)
I am starting to get more tired (probably pregnancy symptoms but also mixed with diabetes) as I'm getting more and more pregnant. I feel more pregnant some days than others. I am grateful I'm not ginormous yet. I hope I don't get ginormous haha. I honestly have lots more better days than bad days, so I'm extremely grateful for that. I'm looking forward to this weekend (family reunion in Pinetop with my husband's family), my sister and her baby girl Payton coming on Monday, and my baby showed next Tuesday! Overall, life is wonderful. I have so much to look forward to :) I will hopefully get used to this diet and it will be over before I know it!
