Jayne's First Trip to the Cabin!

On Friday, we spontaneously decided to go to my parents cabin in Heber with them. I'm so glad we did! It was so fun. I was a little worried how Jayne would do... She had never been in the car more than like 20 minutes before... But she did great! She slept until we got to Payson and then I fed her, and then she slept the rest of the way. On the way home she slept the whole time! I was definitely happy about that. Sleeping at the cabin was another story... She decided she wanted to be wake up in the middle of the night which she usually doesn't do, and she also decided she wanted to be wide awake from like 5 until after 6. She was like smiling and cooing haha. At least she was happy... but I was exhausted! But other than sleeping, she did great!

It was pretty cold outside! I was glad I got to bundle her up in this cute jacket :)
Perfect walking weather. It was so nice!
We saw like a million of these catterpillars on our walk. They were everywhere!

The stroller was super bumpy because of the dirt road, so Thomas carried her for some of the way hahaha
My parents with their awesome walking sticks that they could use to scare off a dog if it came near us!
Jayne talking to Grandma!
Playing games at the cabin is my favorite!
This little girl loves to stand up!!

Ok it was so funny! After my dad put the dominoes away, Jayne was staring at the box and kept getting excited. So random! She did that for like 5 minutes!
Sleepy girl :) This was on the way home. I couldn't believe her pacifier stayed in her mouth for so long. When she is awake she can barely keep it in for like 30 seconds but she kept it in her mouth for like 2 hours while she was sleeping?? Silly girl :)

Videos

Here are two videos I took on my phone... so they are super crappy quality and dark. So lame. The first one is her having the hiccups and smiling, and the second one is her following her toy with her eyes.

7 Weeks

This little girl turned 7 weeks old on Tuesday! I know I always act surprised that she keeps growing up... but seriously, it's insane. She is getting bigger everyday and it makes me a little sad sometimes! I will miss her being so little!

Some random things about our little Jayne...
*Nicknames: Jayney, Jayney-do, "the little girl", baby girl
*She's starting to really get some chubbers on her! I can totally tell her thighs are getting bigger. When I give her a bath, I gotta make sure I get between some folds :) haha.
*Speaking of baths... this girl is still LOVING bath time. She never cries and just chills there and likes to kick her legs. She will suck on her hands after I get them wet. Haha it makes me laugh. And I love her surprised face when I get her face wet.
*She loves to stand! She looks so tall when she's standing up. She's doing a good job at holding up her head these days, too.
*She isn't spitting up as much now... like she hardly ever does... yay! This morning she spit up a couple times though... I think it was because I ate citrus...
*She's sleeping 6-8 hours through the night, usually around 7
*She LOVES her bouncer! She smiles and moves around a ton. I will just sit there and watch her play... haha it's my favorite
*She's not liking her swing as much as she used to... but she still likes it sometimes
*She is really starting to concentrate on objects. She has this toy ball that makes noise and when I shake it and move it around from one side of her head to the other, she follows it with her eyes. I love watching her concentration while she does this.
*I love breastfeeding her... It is seriously the best! I love the connection I have with her. And she looks so so so cute when she eats and makes the cutest noises.
*I love when I burp her and she has her eyes wide open, her eyebrows raised up so her forehead is scrunched up, and she looks around. Haha it is adorable. Except I don't like that sometimes it takes FOREVER to get a burp out of her!
*Jayne loves to go on walks. She will usually be awake for like 5 minutes or so and then she'll fall asleep. I can't WAIT until it's nicer weather and I can take her for walks in the middle of the day!
*She also loves to ride in the car. I'm SO glad she doesn't mind being in her car seat. The other day she was being fussy, and I was pretty sure it was because she was tired, and we got in the car to go home, and she fell asleep in literally like 2 seconds. The car totally calms her down.
*She is sleeping in her crib every night now... She has been for a couple weeks now. I still have her bassinet by our bed. I guess it's time to put it in the attic! I didn't know she would be going in her crib so soon... It kind of makes me sad! She's growing up too fast!
*Sometimes, if she's super tired, she will fall asleep on her own. I will swaddle her, (arms out still... she HATES her arms being in) then lay her down in her crib, and turn on her sound machine, and she'll fall asleep! Ok this has only happened a couple times... but it was great! I'm hoping she'll be able to start doing this more often. But usually I have to hold her until she's either asleep or almost asleep, and then I'll put her down. I don't mind holding her/rocking her to sleep, but sometimes it just takes a while!
*So we have a sound machine... and it ROCKS! There are a couple different sounds, but we have it so it plays rain sounds. And we have it on the loudest it goes. Then when we have friends over and she's sleeping, we don't have to be quiet because she has her loud rain sounds in her room. Score :) Plus, it calms her down.
*She has been a little stinker about naps lately. She likes to take little cat naps all day. She is sleeping right now though and has been for about an hour, so that's good!
*She has been smiling quite a bit lately! But seriously she is naughty because when I get out the camera she stops.
* She loves to coo, squeal, have the hiccups (she actually hates them but apparently her body likes to have them... she has them all the time and it's so annoying!), do huge toots and burps (holy cow she amazes us sometimes with the sounds that come out of her hahaha)

We love this little girl! She's starting to be more fun :) I love how she's starting to talk to us, smile,  and play with her toys!

Silly faces!

So this is usually the pictures I get of her smiles haha. When she smiles she moves her head around! Crazy girl

Daddy likes to do silly things with her haha.... like these 2 pictures

My mom watches her while I work, and the other day I came home and saw this haha. What a big girl! Asleep of course...

I love this carrier I have!

The Mom Life

Baby girl and I have had fun hanging out and getting to know each other! She is my little sidekick. I'm loving the mom life. It's seriously the best! She makes me so happy. Seeing how much she's changed and grown already is amazing. She is playing more, starting to give us real smiles, is awake more during the day, and is sleeping pretty darn good through the night! She is also (kind of) fitting into size 1 diapers, and is fitting into more 0-3 month clothes! Yay! She is getting a little chubbier, even though she is still pretty dang skinny!
I started back at work recently. I'm only working Monday and Friday 9-11:30 and Wednesday 8:30-11, so it's not too many hours. It is perfect. It's just enough so I can get out of the house a little and make some money for our family. I wouldn't be able to handle working more than that. I miss my little girl too much! I am working at a preschool as an assistant. This is my... 3rd year? I think. I love it. The kids are adorable and it's just a fun job to have. I'm so grateful that my mom is watching Jayne. I miss her when I'm gone, but it's great to know she's in good hands! I'm glad she's getting time with grandma.
I can't believe it's already September! I am so excited about things that are starting to come up! First, my best friend Courtney Cotter is marrying Dallin King on September 27th! I am so so so excited for them. We had a bachelorette party for Courtney last night. It was so fun to get together with some friends that I haven't seen in a while and just have some girl time :) On September 29th, Jayne will be blessed! I am sad we didn't get to bless her when we wanted to... When my sister was here. I guess there are rules about it having to be on a fast Sunday... Oh well.
September will be gone before we know it, and then it will be October! Thomas' birthday is on the 26th and mine is on the 28th! It is fun having our birthdays so close together. I'm not sure what we'll do to celebrate... probably just go get free food :) Then there is Halloween! It will be fun dressing up Jayne! We are brainstorming cute ideas that the 3 of us could be :) I can't wait.
Alright now for some random pictures I've taken lately!

Here is Jayne with her cousin, Neum! He was born August 21st, so 3 weeks AFTER Jayne. He was 12 pounds when he was born! He is a big guy! I love his chubbers. He is adorable!

She likes the birdy!

I love when she smiles... it kills me. So freaking cute

Yeah, she's balding... haha. She still has some hair in the back! And a little in the front... but she's definitely losing hair! She probably got that from me. I was bald until I was like 1! Poor girl... haha

"You wanna fight??" Haha I put mittens on her quite often because I don't want her to scratch herself, and also I don't really want the little nieces and nephews touching her hands...

Sleep smiles!

My brother, Mason, holding Jayne. Precious :) He'll be a good daddy someday

She cracks me up!

She's getting a little chubbier!

Ok so the other day I tried out a new recipe (yay me! this is huge... I like never cook it's so sad... my poor husband haha) called buffalo cauliflower. It was SO YUMMY! It's like this batter stuff you dip the cauliflower in and then you cook it, then dip it in wing sauce mixture and cook it a little longer. It's delicious!

I love the mirror on the headrest so I can see Jayne when I'm driving. It's a genius invention.

Cutie pie in her strawberry jammies with her matching strawberry rattle!

The other day I told Thomas that I wanted a video camera so I could record videos of Jayne. His camera is too high tech for me haha, and my phone takes crappy videos, so we bought this for less than 200 bucks! It's awesome! (Now I just need to figure out how to get the videos from there onto the computer...)
